POLICIES: Mission
Our mission is to provide quality solutions with integrity and honest dealing, Corum Deo. That will be familiar to the theologically-inclined - it means "before the face of God". Your faith is not my business (though I am available for discussions)... but you should know that I consider myself to be doing business under God's microscope, and my goal is to bring Him glory as I interact with others. I don't want to tick Him off, either...
Guarantee
If you don't like the website administration product we sell, we will refund your money. Period. For work we undertake just for you, we will actively listen to you to determine what you need and want, and will write a detailed contract to ensure that both parties know exactly what is expected. If we deliver what we promised to, on time, we expect to be paid. But if you believe that we did not do what we promised, we will submit the details to the elders of my church for arbitration. (They aren't shy in disciplinary matters, excommunicated several... and they fear God much more than they want to keep me happy.)
Maintenance Activities
If you need changes made to your website, we expect to be reasonably compensated for the work. But we recognize that we are conducting business Corum Deo, and will charge reasonably for such changes.
A note on VISA security
VISA and other credit card companies have extremely strict requirements for online processing of orders. Few hosting sites meet their certification requirements, and operating outside of their guidelines puts your ability to accept credit cards at risk. To avoid that risk, we refer transactions to PayPal or arrange for you to process the transactions manually after contacting the customer by phone. This is cumbersome, no doubt, but gets you online and selling quickly, easily, and inexpensively... and keeps you out of trouble with VISA!
...and on what sort of business we WON'T do:
In good conscience we are unable to provide services to those who sell pornography or "Adult" materials, or whose efforts promote violence against others (other than for defense of self or family) or anything which clearly violates Scriptural mandates (which include a proper respect for civil law). I (Tim Stephenson) am the one who decides what is in and what is out; if you feel I am being arbitrary, we'll submit it to the elders of my church and abide by their decision. If I determine that you've violated this policy, your software will be disabled and you'll get your purchase price back plus 20% APR interest. Money you've spent for consulting time is not refundable.
This may seem intolerant to some. Viewed from their worldview, that is understandable. However, God exists and He has standards, and it is my responsibility to conduct myself as closely in accordance as I can with my understanding of Scripture (see the Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger Catechism for a summary). No apologies. |
